What was the highlight of Hotel Riva Del Sole
A nice resort hotel on a rocky beach with lovely swimming opportunities
The hotel was really nice . Excellent outdoor swimming pooky(but you need a swimming cap at 3 euros . We didn’t use beach equipment eg parasols but we did enjoy swimming in sea. Breakfast was good and we especially enjoyed the custard croissants. Although getting a coffee was time consuming at breakfast and could be improved . We got taxis in too Bari which was an experience but we did get bus which was fine . Resturant good and overlooked the sea/sunset which was beautiful.
I’d always like a kettle and ability to have a hot drink .

Very nice place if you have your own transportation.
The room was fine, the pool was great (bring your own swim cap), the restaurant was very good (make reservations in advance, especially on the weekend. Breakfast was good. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Far from everything unless you have a car. No other places to eat except at their restaurant. Can't really swim in the ocean as there is no beach area to speak of. You can go in, but it's fairly choppy and rocky right off the shore.

Best value for price! Amazing Tropea View!
Quite old hotel with renovated common areas. We stayed in cheapest room so maybe more expensive are better. Bed, mattress and bed covers were nice. Nice, quiet location, reachable only by car. Beach access (rather rocky) with sunbeds, umbrellas and warm shower if you are a hotel client however quite difficult to use it (read instructions in Italian on machine next to shower :D) We've eaten a dinner in hotel restaurant and it was delicious. Very high quality of serving food. We could feel the vibe of vacation and relax. The only problem is with swimming pool policy and rooms ancientness. The breakfast was amazing! Very good choice of food (also salty) which is rare in Italy. Tasty coffee. Amazing pistachio tiramisu!
I think it's overpriced. Many facilities in a room are totally outdated. The windows didn't close properly, very old air-conditioning, broken toilet flush button, extremely small shower (70x70 cm). Mini bar payable, only water is for free. Peeling paint on the terrace. Totally lack of balcony equipment, no place to dry swimming suits and towels. But the worst thing is that you are forced to wear swimming cap if you want to use swimming pool, even children pool at the beach. This is crazy, never in my life met such requirement. Come on, it's not 1950 anymore. I was very disappointed because we booked this hotel to use swimming pool and finally we resigned. Instead we went to te beach. Remember to take swimming shoes with you due to rocks. When checking out I wanted to pay with different card than pre-authorization and staff didn't understand and he charged the card which was not the best for me. I paid with huge exchange rate in my bank.

The rooms were quiet new. Good beds. And also good shower,lovely. Breakfast was very fresh and much choise.
